River City Camera Club meets the first Wednesday of the month from September through May.
Our focus is promoting the knowledge and enjoyment of photography.  

We meet in the community center at Covenant Village of the Great Lakes located at: 
2510 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan 
from 7:00pm until approximately 9:30pm.

                         Monthly meetings provide members and guests the opportunity to network and learn 
                          from other photographers through educational programs, activities and competition. 

Please join us as our guest at the next meeting-All skill levels are welcome! 

                          Even if you don't own a camera yet or are just interested in seeing some great photos come join us.

                               Guest Speaker for our September 2nd meeting will be Ed Post
         Here is a little information on Ed:
       Ed Post became a serious photographer 25 years ago after attending the first of several workshops with professional photographers John Gerlach and Rod Planck.  Since that time, Ed has worked to hone his skills in photography and now shoots exclusively digital images.  Ed leads workshops and photo tours.  He is also a frequent lecturer on nature and landscape photography.  His work has been widely published and he has received honors and awards in contests and exhibitions. To support his hobby, Ed serves as a Circuit Court Judge for Ottawa County, where he lives with his wife Barbara.

                   Ed will talk about digital asset Management  and the after our break he will do a programed
                                              called "A year in the life of a Nature Photographer"


                          Meeting Wednesday October 7 @ 7:00 PM - we will have two months
                         worth of photo competition/discussion. Come and join us to see some
                                           of the best photography Grand Rapids has to offer.

James Cook will present a selection of his Wounded Knee--1990 centennial photographs while discussing photographic challenges and techniques.  For over a decade he photographed the Lakota, resulting in a PBS special and a Smithsonian permanent display.  As a photojournalist, Cook has had hundreds of assignments for Newsweek, Time, Business Week, Forbes and magazines worldwide.  [SaugatuckPhotography.com]
