Presentation by Daniel Koons

Daniel Koons lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan and does full-time freelance work that includes photography classes, consulting and editing, graphic design, writing, woodworking, and LEGO sculptures on the side. He greatly enjoys enabling photographers of all skill levels to better know their equipment and enhance their talents. When he first began his work, he noticed how most photography classes and books were either too basic or too specific. For almost 10 years he has taught others how to easily and quickly master the manual settings on a camera for greater accuracy and predictability.

Mastering Manual is a class Daniel Koons has developed and taught to over one thousand photographers. The goal of the class is to teach professionals and new photographers alike how to capture the right photo, the first time. He teaches how simple it can be to get out of scene and program modes, and focus on the essentials. By understanding and properly changing three key settings in the right order, all photographers can take better photos. After you complete Mastering Manual you will not have to settle with blurred, dark, and inconsistent photos that require you to compromise, delete, or Photoshop them. Come and take your photography to the next level.

James Cook will present a selection of his Wounded Knee--1990 centennial photographs while discussing photographic challenges and techniques.  For over a decade he photographed the Lakota, resulting in a PBS special and a Smithsonian permanent display.  As a photojournalist, Cook has had hundreds of assignments for Newsweek, Time, Business Week, Forbes and magazines worldwide.  [SaugatuckPhotography.com]
